Meet Maresa Scholtz
Maresa Scholtz opened the Parklands branch in Cape Town in January 2021. She holds a BSc Genetics degree from the University of the Free State and previously worked as a Forensic Analyst. Maresa is a fully qualified and licensed instructor in the Self-Rescue Water Safety Programme for Babies (Baby Floating), having completed 400+ hours of intensive training with Lizette Botha (Franchisor). She completed a Learn-to-Swim Instructor Course for Toddlers through Swimming South Africa and holds valid CPR and First Aid Certificates, with annual Police Clearance as required by the franchisor and Swimming South Africa. She attends in-house refresher training regularly to maintain the high standards of the Kiddies Aqua brand. Maresa sees the Baby Floating and Learn-to-Swim programmes as highly complementary — by the time her swimmers reach school age, they can already swim all four basic strokes. Her own son, Janu, and daughter Zanellé have both completed the Baby Floating Course. A former competitive swimmer who represented Namibia on international level during her school career, Maresa is also a South African Triathlon Age Group Gold Medallist. She is passionate about swimming and children and is making strong inroads in the Western Cape with these specialised water safety teaching techniques for infants and toddlers.
