Home Pool Barrier Checklist
- Pool fence is at least 1.2 m high on all 4 sides
- No gaps wider than 100 mm between fence pickets
- Gate is self-closing and self-latching from both sides
- Gate opens outward away from the pool
- No footholds on the outside of the fence that a child could climb
- Fence inspection has been completed in the last 3 months
- The pool fence is in good repair — no broken or bent sections
- No furniture or equipment that a child could use to climb the fence
- Fence gate latch is positioned out of reach of children (1.5 m high)
- Pool fence extends to a wall on at least one side or forms a complete enclosure
